ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3

Leadership You
Can Trust

MEET JILL

Jill, her husband Fredrik, and their three children.
I am a lifelong Pinecrest resident, public school parent, community volunteer, and advocate for fiscally responsible local government.

I was born and raised in Pinecrest, attended Pinecrest Elementary, Palmetto Middle School, and Palmetto High School, and later earned my degree from Florida International University. Today, my husband, Frederik, and I are raising our three children in the same community and public schools that helped shape my own life.
My professional background includes years in hospitality management and large-scale event production, where I developed hands-on experience in budgeting, operations, planning, team leadership, and problem-solving. For the past fourteen years, I have worked as a Food & Beverage Event Production Manager with the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, helping produce one of the nation’s premier culinary events. That work requires attention to detail, fiscal discipline, collaboration, and the ability to balance competing priorities.

But my deepest commitment has always been to Pinecrest families.

Over the years, I have served as a room parent, founded and led a school safety committee of more than one hundred volunteers, chaired school initiatives, served on the Palmetto Elementary Performing Arts Board, and organized community service efforts benefiting children and families across Miami-Dade.

I am running for Pinecrest Village Council because I believe residents deserve a local government that listens, communicates clearly, spends responsibly, and protects the quality of life that makes our Village special.

At a time when property taxes, insurance, utilities, and everyday household costs continue to rise, I believe Pinecrest must be especially disciplined with taxpayer dollars. Village government should focus on smarter spending — not higher taxes.

Pinecrest is not just where I live. It is where I grew up, where I am raising my family, and where I have spent my life building relationships, serving others, and working to make our community stronger.

Born in Pinecrest. Raised in Pinecrest. Invested in Pinecrest. Ready to get to work.

WHY JILL IS RUNNING

I am running for Pinecrest Village Council because I believe local government works best when residents are heard, informed, and included before major decisions are made. The most important issue in this election is affordability — and for Pinecrest homeowners, that starts with property taxes.

Smarter Spending, Not Higher Taxes

Pinecrest families are already facing rising costs, from insurance and utilities to groceries and home maintenance. Village government should not add to that burden unless every reasonable option has been exhausted.

I oppose raising Pinecrest’s millage rate above the current rate of 2.5.

As voters consider statewide property-tax relief, Pinecrest must be prepared to manage its budget responsibly. If state-level property tax changes reduce local revenue, the answer should not be to automatically raise local taxes on residents. The answer should be to tighten the budget, review spending carefully, prioritize essential services, and make the same responsible choices families and businesses make every day.

As a Councilmember, I will push for a disciplined, line-by-line review of Village spending, greater transparency in the budget process, and a clear commitment to protecting residents from unnecessary tax increases.

Better Communication and Resident Input

Residents should not be surprised by major budget decisions, tax proposals, development discussions, or policy changes that affect their neighborhoods.

I will advocate for clearer communication from Village Hall, earlier public engagement, and more meaningful opportunities for residents to weigh in before decisions are made. Pinecrest residents deserve to know what is being considered, why it matters, how it may affect them, and how they can be heard.

Support for Schools and Families

As a Pinecrest public school parent and longtime school volunteer, I understand how closely our schools are tied to the strength of our community.

I have spent years supporting school safety, classroom activities, parent involvement, performing arts, and community service initiatives. As a Councilmember, I will be a strong partner for families, educators, and school communities, and I will continue to look for ways the Village can support the institutions that help our children thrive.

Thoughtful Planning for the Future

Pinecrest can plan responsibly for the future without losing what residents love most about the Village. That means making careful decisions about growth, infrastructure, traffic, drainage, parks, public safety, and environmental preservation. It also means respecting residents, listening early, and making sure major decisions reflect the priorities of the people who live here.

I believe Pinecrest can protect its character, maintain excellent services, and live within a responsible budget. That requires discipline, transparency, and a Council that understands that every dollar spent comes from the residents we serve.

"

For me, this campaign is not about politics.

It is about service. It is about giving back to the community that shaped me, raised me, and continues to be home to the people I love most.
